The books are handcrafted with care, using various decorative papers and binding styles. Constructed with fine watercolor and printmaking papers, each page is torn on all sides for a very special look and feel.
John's books are also available at Jay Shay Gallery in Georgetown, Massachusetts. Please visit www.jayshay.com to learn more.

PH neutral and acid free materials including glues and paper are used to maintain the look, feel, and integrity of your book for years to come.
Two types are bindings are available.

STAB BINDINGS

-pages that are stacked and taped at the spine, then drilled and hand stitched in a decorative pattern.

-spacers between each page, allowing photographs and other material to be inserted into the books without bulging, (unless otherwise requested).

Popular Uses: photo album, wedding album, quest log, restaurant menu.

COPTIC BINDINGS

-made without adhesive material, constructed with folded pages and covers that are not a fixed to a separate spine.
Each page is sewn to the next using colorful waxed linen.

-allows the book to be open flat on the table- perfect for writing, drawing, or painting .

-allows a limited amount of material such as photographs to be inserted without noticeable bulging.

Popular Uses: Journal, Diary, Guest Log, Restaurant Menu, Sketch Book, Phone Book, etc.
